TISNES, Adela. Spatial analysis of cancer mortality in Tandil 2003-2005 using Bayesian methods. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2014, vol.15. ISSN 1853-4392.
The use of space as a category of analysis in general, and for the analysis of the unequal distribution of mortality in this case, which is not free of theoretical and methodological problems. The calculation of indicators at the municipal level will be problematic due to the size of the units of study. The accuracy of the results in areas with smaller populations will be much lower than in the more populated regions. Therefore there may be indicators estimation problems when working with small areas. An application is presented using Bayesian methods that allow "correct" maps and estimates, given the stability of the estimates calculated, obtaining structures that were not visible with classic statistical methods. This methodology will be developed to analyze the unequal distribution of cancer mortality in the city of Tandil in 2003-2005.
