This article analyzes the press representations built on violence against women, putting the focus on the representation of the aggressor, to problematize the discursive strategies that conceal the structural nature of this problem and present it as a problem of the "others", regardless of gender relations in our society. To do this I carry out a critical discourse analysis of the press of Mar del Plata city regarding the so-called "caso del Loco de la ruta", one of the most resonant local "cases" in respect to violence against women, referred to a series of murders and disappearances of women, most of which offer commercial sexual services, held in Mar del Plata between 1996 and 2004.
