Resumen
SACCONE, Mercedes y WEISS, Eduardo. La acreditación de asignaturas en la vida cotidiana escolar: Un estudio etnográfico en el contexto de la obligatoriedad de la educación media superior. Propuesta educativa (Online) [online]. 2017, n.47, pp.119-128. ISSN 1995-7785.
In this article, we present the results of a study that analyzes, from an ethnographic focus, the earning of course credit in everyday life at a Colegio de Bachilleres high school in Mexico City. The processes of passing, failing and repeating are central in times of compulsory high school attendance. We sustain that earning credit is affected by a mandate that is present in current educational policies: to improve young people’s indexes of access to school, enrollment, and passing courses in high school. This mandate influences, but also gains new meaning and tension, at the level of the practices and meanings that are constructed by students, teachers, and academic coordinators in everyday life at school.
