This study describes and analyzes the change processus operated in the last thirty years in the land use, the agrarian structure and the land tenure in Argentina, in the North East Region. The analyzed changes testify of the transformation operated in productive model of the region, from a system of smallhoders and subsistence farmers to a model of medium and large capitalist agriculture. Besides, this works studies briefly the future tendencies and points out the necessity of generating a new land policy framework in order to preserve the social equity and the environmental sustainability of the region.
