Resumen

FANESE, Griselda  y  KEJNER, Emilse M.. "Aneida": a epic of women in a working strike. The representations of women in the conflicts Choconazo (1969-1970). Aljaba [online]. 2007, vol.11, pp.229-247. ISSN 1669-5704.

Between December 1969 and March 1970, as in Neuquén province El Chocón dam and village were being built, there were two considerable strikes: the "Choconazo". These were part of the demonstrations that took place in Argentina at that time, when women and youth rose as new agents of mobilization and cultural change. The participation of women in the conflicts was almost not recorded by the media that informed about the strikes of El Chocón That absence in the Northern Patagonic newspaper Río Negro, turns meaningful when it is contrasted to Ana Egea's memory, whose speech shows the real presence of the women in the conflict and their own conscience. Both the chronics published in the Río Negro about the Choconazo and Ana Egea's memories evoke the epic: while in the newspaper workers are the heroes, in Egea's speech, she breaks the barriers of a historically male type of text and becomes the protagonist of her own epic. Analyzing social speeches implies to study the ways a society knows and imagines itself. In that sense, investigating the representations of women on El Chocón strikes, involves to take a look at moving the glance towards gender as a constituent element not only of social relationships, but also of discursive types through which those relationships are built.
