AYALA FRANCO, Enrique; REYES MAGANA, Jorge C.; MOO MENA, Francisco y GARCILAZO ORTIZ, Juan F.. Experiencia en la adaptación del modelo Learning Factory y uso de TIC en un curso de Redes y Seguridad de Computadoras a nivel universitario. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2014, n.13, pp.43-54. ISSN 1851-0086.
The Learning Factory model has proven effectiveness in providing environments that facilitate development of active learning strategies based on relationships with industry. In this paper lessons learned to adapt/implement the Learning Factory model in the planning and development of a course in Computer Networks and Security at the under-graduated level are shared. The main goal was to achieve meaningful student learning by incorporating various teaching and learning strategies, focusing on the development of realistic technological projects requested by local industry in the area of distributed systems and networks, by enabling a workspace to facilitate autonomous and collaborative work in order to develop required skills. The planning, implementation, operation, and evaluation of the course involved Professors from the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Yucatán, México, and companies with whom collaborative relationships were established. For the development of activities and teaching strategies, information and communication technology tools (ICT) that contributed to the achievement of the learning objectives were used.
