RIBOLDI, Sandra Mara Oselame y RICHERT, Janice Teresinha. Use of the Scratch Programming Language for the Learning of 1st degree equations. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2020, n.26, pp.63-71. ISSN 1851-0086.
This work investigates the possible contributions of Scratch programming language in the introduction of the concept of equations, in a 9th grade class in a state public school in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The action research was carried out from March to May 2019, with the duration of 20 meetings, in a total of 30 hours, with the participation of 26 students. The activities were built based on the theoretical assumptions of Meaningful Learning and Constructivism. The participants were evaluated before and after the development of the activities, for the verification of the subsumers (previous knowledge) and learning evolution, with questions related to the use of technologies, programming logic, knowledge about Scratch and contents of 1st degree equations. The results, analyzed in a qualitative way, point to a significant improvement in the learning of the concept of first-degree functions, greater interest in Mathematics and curiosity for learning.
