Resumen

KABALIN CAMPOS, Julieta. Cosas de Negros by Vicente Rossi: an heterodoxy speech?. CELEHIS [online]. 2018, n.35, pp.1-5. ISSN 2313-9463.

This paper proposes a critical reading of a widely cited book in the field of studies of blackness in Argentina, but yeat very little analyzed. The essay "Cosas de Negros" by Vicente Rossi, written in 1926, draws attention for having approached the racial theme- and particularly, Afro "“in a context where the idea of the disappearance of the Afro"“Argentine population was already a very accepted discourse. In this sense, we wonder to what extent Rossi's book can be read as a dissident work before the dominant discourse of his time. In other words, we inquire with Savater if it is possible to think this work as a heterodox production. For this, we offer a path where we will point out some information about the intellectual work of Rossi and the relations that he maintained with his contemporaries, as well as an analysis of the work that seeks to recognize the debates and disputes in which he inscribes taking positions, often controversial ones.

Palabras clave : Cosas de negros; Vicente Rossi; Heterodoxy; Argentinian Blackness.
