The article analyzes Casino. Esto es una guerra (1997), by Javier Daulte, as a representation (Chartier 1992, 2007) of the Malvinas War in the Argentine theater. Written in the framework of the Caraja-jí group, Casino is a milestone of dramaturgical renewal in the nineties. The play proposes -as the playwright himself has pointed out- an "oneiric review of the Malvinas events '82" (Daulte 2004: 217) from a singular appropriation of the procedures of the expressionist poetics and the black comedy. The objective of this work is to describe and interpret the poetics of Casino from the theoretical-methodological bases of the Comparative Poetics.
