The frst exploitations of groundwater in the area are made by the Argentine Army, between 1940 and 1950, in the Los Médanos on the banks of the Salt or Abaucán river to promote the development of agricultural colonies in the region. Hydrothermal manifestations studied are located in the southern extreme of the Hydrogeological Basin of the Pipanaco salt within the Hydrogeological Province Intermountain Valleys of Pampean Ranges (Sosic 1973). Groundwater in this sector are fundamentally Quaternary deposits and to a lesser extent, in Tertiary sediments. For this work were analyzed 10 samples thermal wells and 2 springs, where physical and chemical parameters were evaluated as the emergency temperature source, pH, fow, conductivity, hardness, among others, and the ionic concentrations of cations and major anions, allowing their chemical characterization and application of cationic geothermometers.
