CAPRIATI*, Alejandro J.. What each one has.Vulnerabilities and supports in youth condition. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2017, n.52, pp.119-140. ISSN 1668-8104.
This article shows results of a qualitative study about social inequalities and vulnerabilities in adolescence and youth in Gran Buenos Aires, Argentina. The conceptual framework combines contributions from vulnerability and human rights approach, youth studies and social theory in order to have a first definition on how to understand the subject and its context and the processes that mark life and affect health. The biographical method was used as a methodological strategy to investigate the most important events in the lives of young men and women living in "villas" (slums) and neighborhoods of Gran Buenos Aires, Argentina. The analysis of the trajectories is summarized in three propositions about the assumption of tasks and obligations typical of adult life at an early age, the supports that scaffold adverse situations and the tension between privatization and politicization of experience. Among the conclusions, it can be identified mechanisms that turns precarious the existence of people and define vulnerability in adolescence as a process in which social inequalities and the lack of timely intervention from violence overlap and other needs of adolescent protection
