MONROY SANTANA, Raúl. Categorización de la comprensión de gráficas estadísticas en estudiantes de secundaria (12-15). Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2007, vol.2, n.2, pp.29-38. ISSN 1850-6666.

The present study identifies the level in that the secondary student's (12-15) are located in the understanding of statistical graphs, in accordance with the theoretical framework proposed by Langrall and Mooney (2002). In a population of 231 students of 4 public schools of the metropolitan area of the Mexico City, a questionnaire was applied designed to evaluate two aspects of the statistical thinking in the understanding of graphic: description and representation of data. In the study it was found that most of the students without grade distinction are in the idiosyncratic and/or transitional level, this means that they present difficulties to distinguish the elements of a graph and to establish relationships inside this. Having characterized these difficulties will allow us, for future investigations, to design activities to help the students to traffic at levels superiors.
