PINTO LEIVAS, José Carlos  e  DA SILVA, Erilúcia Souza. Intuitive approach of some elementary topological notions for a group of students from master in mathematics education. Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2015, vol.10, n.1, pp.73-84. ISSN 1850-6666.

This article presents part of a qualitative study that aimed to investigate contributions of intuitive approaches of notions of Geometric Topology to train a group of master students of a Professional Master's Degree in Teaching Mathematics. Through an workshop twelve students conducted activities involving Moebius strip and Klein bottle for the acquisition of elementary topological properties, having answered an initial questionnaire, that identified them prior knowledge about the subject. By means of video recordings, initial and final questionnaires, analysis of records produced by the students the analyze of the collected data was taken. We conclude that activities using manipulative materials can cause intuition can produce knowledge as indicated by Fischbein (1987) towards the acquisition of elementary topological properties since such they precede Euclidean, since they are independent of measures and facilitate the representation of space.
