LEIBOVICH DE FIGUEROA, Nora; WILSON, Maximiliano  e  INJOQUE RICLE, Irene. Is it possible to self-administer a prospective memory task?: Construct and ecological validity of a self-administered prospective memory task. Anu. investig. [online]. 2006, vol.13, pp.273-278. ISSN 1851-1686.

Prospective Memory (PM) involves complex cognitive abilities that enable us to perform in the future delayed intentions. Since these tasks are normally initiated in a certain context its assessment must take into consideration such environment. Traditionally, PM has been assessed by means of the presence of an examiner who controlled the rightful execution of the tasks. The aim of the present work is to compare the performance in PM tasks in a traditionally administered sample and a selfadministered one. The results indicate that there are no significant differences between the performances of the two samples. This seems to support the ecological and construct validity of the new assessment variation. And it will enable the collection of larger amounts of data for it leaves behind time and space limitations that administration to big samples implies.

Palavras-chave : Prospective memory; Ecological assessment; Validity; Self-administration.
