The current article approaches the ways in which social distances are built, concerning intergenerational social mobility of young and young adults living in working class proletarian neighborhoods in the Gran Buenos Aires. On one hand, chances of moving from parent social classes to another above are measured through odd ratios. On the other hand, social imaginaries of feasibility and desirability to reach certain social position are also analyzed.
