This paper discusses the relationship between design and engineering through interdisciplinary teaching experiences for raising circular economy awareness. Education is essential to enable this process in a systemic way for future professionals in both areas, introducing integrated project methodologies in product design and manufacturing. The goal is that in addition to the areas of expertise (architecture, design, management and engineering), prospects are established to rethink the current path of economic development. This will create a skills base to promote circular innovation, aligned with the need for modern societies to move towards a more sustainable paradigm.
