The aim of this paper is to analyze the experience of a group of postgraduate studies about Latin America. More than results from a particular collective, we aim to emphasize processes, challenges and ways to think about Latin America. Specifically we analyze the collective “América Latina En Discusión” that took place in the years 2005 to 2007 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For the analysis, were used documents produced by the group, as invitation letters, schedules and papers, as well as a 2007 written containing its main lines of work. The text analysis also consider the insertion of the author into the collective. In this work of interpretation of the experience, were used authors who focus their studies in Latin America and in the production of knowledge. Conclusions are for the needing of policies that encourage the production of knowledge through Latin American collectives; marking ours own epistemic projects, from, about and for Latin America.
