ANGULO VILLAN, Florencia Raquel  e  BALUT, Jorgelina. The presence of women'n lyric in "Jujuy" magazine (1936-1940). Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2007, n.33, pp.11-20. ISSN 1668-8104.

To trace literary production in Jujuy is a difficult task, mainly because there is not a physical space in which the whole of the bibliographic production has been kept. It is also a difficult task to register women's production, above all because we can not find books by women-writers dated before the nineteen thirties. The first recorded literary piece published by a woman dates back to 1934. There exist, however, periodical publications -newspapers, magazines- that have hosted women's voices throughout time and even though the jov is exhausting it is by no means fruitless. Although there are only two known pieces published by women in the decade that goes from 1934-1944 the presence of women is highlighted in "Jujuy" magazine whose first issue appeared in September 1936 and last one in February 1940. Our present study has the aim to explore tematic and formal characteristics present in women's lyric in the above mertioned publication which circulated in the province in the mid-thirties. As a result of this, we will attempt to settle two critical issues. In the first place, to what extent these publications form part of a literary tradition but also what propositions of rupture an renewal they exhibit. As a second major question we ar interested in disclosing what social standing women possessed in those days.

Palavras-chave : womens's lyric-1930; renewal and rupture; society; themes and forms.
