Resumo

The article describesthe main features and results, of a program of labor supply that has been implemented in the city of Medellin since 2005, and which has been implemented as a response from the public sector to the high unemployment rates that have been taking place in this city. It's also mentioned in this document the replication of the model in two other Latin American cities, in the frame of a of south-South cooperation Project (SSC) This initiative, catalogued as a good practice, can be framed in promoting synergies and linkages between the public sector and the private sector in the design, development and implementation of activities aimed to promote employment. This strategy is classified as a best practice taking into account that they are actions or initiatives with tangible and measurable impacts in terms of improving the quality of life and the environment in a sustainable manner and can serve as models for other countries or regions, according to their own situation (Hernandez Aja, 2001).
