Abstract

BERNASCONI, Emiliana  and  CUSMINSKY, Gabriela. Distribution of Nonionella auris (D´Orbigny) (Forminiferida) in San Matías gulf, Río Negro province, Argentina. Ameghiniana [online]. 2005, vol.42, n.1, pp.167-174. ISSN 1851-8044.

Qualitative, quantitative and statistic analysis on samples of surface sediments from San Matías Gulf, Río Negro Province, Argentina, reveal a relationship between the type of substrate- depth and characteristics and distribution of the benthic foraminifer Nonionella auris (d´Orbigny). The study suggests that the development of this species is favoured in low energy and deep environments with muddy substrates.

Keywords : Foraminifera; Nonionella auris; Distribution; San Matías gulf; Argentina.
