Abstract

GREGORI, Daniel et al. The basins of the northwest sector of the Province of Buenos Aires. Rev. Asoc. Geol. Argent. [online]. 2009, vol.64, n.4, pp.586-593. ISSN 0004-4822.

The configuration of the basement in thenorthwest zone of the Buenos Aires province has beenstudied with gravimetric, magnetic and seismic methods. As resulting from thisinvestigation the location and thicknesses of the sedimentary basins of Rosario, Lincoln and Laboulaye have been determined. The areais covered by Mesozoic and Cenozoic sedimentary rocks, but in addition severalof these basins have Paleozoic rocks and basic rocks equivalent to the Serra GeralFormation. The positive Bouguer anomalies in the area of Carlos Tejedor, arerelated to a basement high whose physical parameters led us to consider as partof the Cratón del Río de la Plata, due to the similarity with the basementoutcropping in Tandil.

Keywords : Basinsconfiguration; Buenos Aires province; Geophysical survey.
