SALADO PAZ, Natalia; PETRINOVIC, Iván A; AVILA, Julio e BROD, Affonso. Geología, mineralogía y estructura de la mina acazoque (Pb-Ag-Zn), Puna salteña. Rev. Asoc. Geol. Argent. [online]. 2016, vol.73, n.2, pp.173-182. ISSN 0004-4822.
Acazoque mine, located in the Puna salteña corresponds to a low sulphidation epithermal deposit related to miocene magmatic activity. It is a veined system Ag-Pb-Zn located in granitic rocks corresponding to Complejo eruptivo Oire, it is approximately 500 m long, and an average thickness of 0.60 m. Primary mineralization consists of galena, chalcopyrite, pyrite, stannite and tetrahedrite in gangue of fluorite, barite, adularia, calcite and quartz. Secondary mineralization is represented by cerussite, covellite, chalcocite, azurite, malachite and limonite. The vein has a net contact with the country rock and shows a brecciated texture varying transitionally. Scanning electron microscopy was used in this study in order to determine the mineral chemistry in the vein. The chemical composition of analyzed minerals are adularia: K 0.92 Al 0.89 Si 3.09 O 8, barite: Ba 0.97 Sr 0.03 SO4, calcite: Ca1.87 Mn0.01 (CO3)2, cerussite: Pb1.47 Ca0.01CO3, galena: Pb0.97S1. The mineralization is located in a fault plane N 50º trend and 70°SW dip with relative displacement of blocks oblique (normal-dextral). Our data indicate that mineralization is sin-deformational, related to evolution of the caldera Aguas Calientes (10.3 Ma).The interpreted local stress field is consistent with that regional one.
