Abstract

BACIGALUPO, Nélida M.  and  CABRAL, Elsa L.. Borreria santacruciana and Mitracarpus bicrucis (Rubiaceae - Spermacoceae), new species from Bolivia. Darwiniana [online]. 2005, vol.43, n.1-4, pp.69-73. ISSN 0011-6793.

Borreria santacruciana and Mitracarpus bicrucis from Bolivia are described and illustrated. B. santacruciana is close to B. wunschmannii, but differs for having inconspicuous pubescence of apressed hairs, leaves 7-17 mm long, glomerules with an involucre of 2-4 bracts of 7-13 mm long. Mitracarpus bicrucis is enterely glabrous, notable for its stipular sheath with only one lacina and seeds with a cross-shaped furrow on both surfaces.
