Abstract

WENZEL, María T.  and  DIAZ, Mónica M. Cyanophyta from Nahuel Huapi National Park (Argentina), II. Darwiniana [online]. 2008, vol.46, n.1, pp.51-65. ISSN 0011-6793.

Eighty-eight taxa of fresh-water Cyanophyta belonging to the orders Chroococcales, Oscillatoriales, Nostocales and Stigonematales were identified. Eleven species and one taxonomic form are recorded, described and illustrated for the first time for Argentina: Aphanothece smithii, Gloeothece palea, Hydrocoleum muscicola, Tolypothrix fragilis, Tolypothrix papyracea, Scytonema fritschii, Dichothrix baueriana, Stigonema flexuosum, Fischerella muscicola, Hapalosiphon delicatulus, Hapalosiphon luteolus and Anabaena variabilis f. tenuis. Fortyeight other taxa are new records for the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Observations about habitat (planktonic, metaphytic, epiphytic, lithophytic and limiphilous), ecological characteristics and geographical distribution are included.
