Abstract

ZAPATER, Maria A.; HOC, Patricia S.; LOZANO, Evangelina C.  and  SUHRING, Silvia S.. Delimitación de las especies argentinas del genero Inga (Mimosoideae) mediante técnicas numéricas. Darwiniana, nueva serie [online]. 2014, vol.2, n.2, pp.248-259. ISSN 0011-6793.

Delimitation of Argentine species within genus Inga (Mimosoideae) by means of numerical taxonomy. Inga is represented in Argentina by six species and one variety. However doubts emerge about the validity of these taxa. Phenetic relationships were studied among 75 specimens belonging to the seven recognized taxa, in order to evaluate their validity. A morphological matrix of 46 characters was analyzed by clustering and conglomerate methods. The dendrogram and the principal components analyses (PCA) show six groups, consequently six species can be clearly recognized: I. saltensis, I. marginata, I. laurina, I. virescens, I. affinis, and I. uraguensis. A key for the identification of species is presented together with distribution maps in Argentina.

Keywords : Argentina; Inga; Mimosoideae; Multivariate analysis; Taxonomy.
