Citharexylum is an American genus of shrubs and trees, with about 130 species. Four species were formerly cited for Argentina. In the present work a fifth species, C. solanaceum, up till now only known from southern Brazil, is reported for the first time for the province of Misiones. A description of the species, together with illustrations, photos, a distribution map, and a key to the species of Citharexylum in Argentina are here provided.
