Abstract

Amauropelta opposita, a species known up to now for southern Brazil as its southernmost distribution limit, was collected for the first time in northeasternArgentina (Misiones). Its morphological characteristics, synonymy and lectotypification are included; illustrations, photographs, a map with the location of the new record, as well as a key of the species of Amauropelta that live in Misiones are provided.
