Abstract
BRANDOLIN, Pablo; MARTORI, Ricardo and AVALOS, Miguel. Temporal variations of bird assemblages of the Fauna Natural Reserve Laguna La Felipa (Córdoba, Argentina). Hornero [online]. 2007, vol.22, n.1, pp.1-8. ISSN 0073-3407.
Seasonal variations in species richness, abundance, use of habitats and residence status of bird assemblages of the Fauna Natural Reserve Laguna La Felipa (Córdoba, Argentina) were analized. Three habitats were considered: savanna, field of rushes, and pond. Censuses were performed every 15 days, during an annual cycle, using transect lines and count point methods. A total of 104 out of 127 species present in the study area were counted in 19 systematic samplings. Two species were very abundant, 5 abundant and 97 scarcely abundant. Nineteen species were found to use the three habitats considered and 55 to use only one. There was no seasonal variation neither in richness values nor in abundance in the three habitats studied. To conserve the complexity and variety of these assemblages it is important to maintain the environmental heterogeneity of this site.
