Abstract

BIANCHINI, Mauro  and  GONZALEZ C, Gonzalo. First continental record of the Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea) in Patagonia, Argentina: evidence of its crossing from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic. Hornero [online]. 2017, vol.32, n.2, pp.273-276. ISSN 0073-3407.

We present the first continental record for Argentina of the Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea), obtained in a lagoon in Santo Domingo, Neuquén Province, in October 2015. The record supports the existence of an area of migratory passage of this species between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean in southern South America.

Keywords : Arctic Tern; Migration; Patagonia; Sterna paradisaea.
