Abstract

ESPADA, Graciela. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis: Part 2: prognosis and current therapeutic approach. Arch. argent. pediatr. [online]. 2009, vol.107, n.6, pp.536-541. ISSN 0325-0075.

The prognosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis has improved substantially during the last decade, due to an earlier recognition of the disease, its predictors of outcome and the approach to treatment. The introduction of biological agents, constitutes a valuable treatment option for children who are resistant or refractory to conventional antirheumatic drugs. Disease outcome regarding different categories, predictors associated to poor prognosis and the current approach to treatment are reviewed in this article.
