Abstract

SARACINO, Pablo Enrique. Algunas observaciones acerca del problema de la unidad en la Crónica de Tres Reyes. Cuad. hist. Esp. [online]. 2009, vol.83, pp.9-24. ISSN 0325-1195.

The Crónica de tres reyes -a mid-fourteenth century text, traditionally attributed to Fernán Sanchez of Valladolid- is, in its very same prologue, conceived as a unit. Although the different editions released of this text -total or partially- do not consider the problem of the unit of the work, it is possible to find in the hand-written tradition some details that allow to think about a discontinuity between the compositional processes of the Crónica de Alfonso X and those of his son's and his grandson's chronicles, that draw apart in certain characteristics from the kind of rules that determine the Castilian medieval historiography from the times of Alfonso X. In these displacements, as well as in the attempts of some scribes to equal the style of the chronicles of Sancho and Fernando to the one that governs the Crónica de Alfonso X, it is possible to make out the disruptions between the parameters of the historiographic genre and its specific communicative function within diverse scopes of enunciation.

Keywords : Crónica de tres reyes; Hand-written tradition; Unity; Discursive tradition.
