Abstract

SANCHEZ BENITO, José María. La vid y el vino en la meseta meridional castellana (siglos XII-XV). Cuad. hist. Esp. [online]. 2009, vol.83, pp.25-50. ISSN 0325-1195.

The growth of vineyards after repopulation, the characteristics of this cultivation and the wine trade, all go to make up the main themes in this article. By studying them, we can observe the true importance that activity reached in all areas during the medieval era, and the great influence that the political powers had over it, both in its productive side and in the control of mercantile distribution of the obtained product referred to. To prepare this analysis, the southern part of the Castilian plateau was chosen because there is no specific bibliography available on this matter.

Keywords : Vines; Wine; Trade; Aagricultural landscape; Castile; Twelfth to fifteenth centuries.
