This paper shows a brief information and analysis of the currently main digitalization projects about sources and documentation concerning the history of Spain. They are being done by archives and digital libraries which have been spreading in the last years, and the Ministry of Culture, which is promoting and leading several of the most ambitious projects undertaken in Spain. These projects provide funds of the main archives and libraries of the country due to cooperation agreements with regional governments, foundations and cultural institutions. The amount of digitalized material of all types (books, archival documents, newspapers, photographs, engravings, maps, legislation, etc.) is increasing in quantity and quality; and this is undoubtedly developing the methodology of historical research by offering the classical sources in a more convenient and flexible form for investigation, and other new sources that appeared thanks to the possibilities of Internet.
