The present study summarizes research done by the COLABIOCLI (Latin American Confederation of Clinical Biochemistry). It deals wiht the professionals who perform clinical analysis in Latin America and Argentina and with grade and postgraduate education in Argentina. The work was rounded off by an excellent task performed by ECUAFyB (Coordinating Body of Pharmacy and Biochemistry Academic Units). The different postgraduate specialties available in the different Pharmacy and Biochemistry Schools were surveyed. The internships available as excellence training practice in the clinical analysis practice have been listed. The number of biochemists in the country and their distribution by province was investigated, as well as those group who do clinical analysis, either in public or private practices. It also analyzes the Professional Biochemical Certification, whose purpose is to maintain quality, enhance study habits and continuous self-evaluation of professionals; and offer patients an updated professional of excellence.
