Skin melanoma is the neoplasm with the highest growth rate. Chemotherapy treatments have in general proven to be ineffective; however, immunotherapy plays an important role in its treatment. In this review, the aspects related to the use of different variants of therapeutic vaccines against melanoma will be addressed, and it will be demonstrated how they are particularly useful in the early stages of the disease.
