Nowadays we can observe the exponential growth of both international and national tourism. Particularly, in Argentina, the so-called “wilderness tourism” has grown a lot in the last decade. Evidence of this is the increasingly large amount of annual visits to the National Park El Palmar. This situation produces a conflict between two different logics, the economic and the conversationist. It is specifically important to investigate how the tourism related to the yatay’s palm is promoted and how tourist attractions are created in order to encourage this kind of tourism. Besides, it is worth to study the incidence of these actions in the environmental risk of the National Park El Palmar. This article presents the main results of a previous research that analyzes how tourism, in all its dimensions, intervenes in the construction of environmental risk at the National Park El Palmar.
