The spatial growth of Corrientes city, Argentina, is limited, firstly, by the Parana River that prevents its expansion toward the north and the west; whereas to the east and to the south, waterlogged landscapes predominate. The aim of this paper is to study the exposure of the population faced with risks to urban flooding as a result of the expansion of the city of Corrientes on flooded spaces. The methodology employed consisted of the observation and analysis of satellite images that allow the detection of recent changes, as well as the observation of aerial photographs obtained in 1950, and a historical review of the occupation of new spaces by the observation of old planes.
