This article analyzes the dialogue between some reformist and anti reformist newspapers from the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan, during the discussion of the reform of the regular clergy and the approval of religious tolerance in San Juan. It aims to describe the arguments that support each position, and to contribute to the study of religious issues, as part of the transformation on the ways of discussing and thinking politics during the 19th century.
