Abstract

MEDINA, César E et al. First occurrence of Eumops patagonicus (Chiroptera: Molossidae) and range expansion of the geographic distribution of E. hansae, in Peru. Mastozool. neotrop. [online]. 2012, vol.19, n.2, pp.163-178. ISSN 0327-9383.

The bonneted bats, genus Eumops, have a broad geographic distribution in America; however the few records of this group have hindered a good knowledge of their systematics and the geographic distribution of its species. The genus Eumops in Peru is represented by seven species; nevertheless, recent studies in the Yungas of Cusco department, south of Peru, reveal new distributional findings for this genus, among those we have a first record of E. patagonicus in Peru and a new locality of record for E. hansae.

Keywords : Eumops; Yungas; Peru.
