MORA-VILLA, Leticia Anaid; ELIZALDE-ARELLANO, Cynthia e LOPEZ-VIDAL, Juan Carlos. Estudio de la comunidad de quirópteros de San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, México. Mastozool. neotrop. [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.1, pp.145-150. ISSN 0327-9383.
In order to describe the bat community of San Luis de la Paz, México, abundance, size and trophic guild of the specimens were associated with their habitat, and diversity, equitativity, species richness, and dominancy were estimated. The highest diversity was shown in succulent-roset desert shrub. The most frequent family was Phyllostomidae and the most abundant species was Sturnira lilium. Insectivorous bats constituted the most diverse guild. High species richness shown by this community may be due to its location in the transition zone between the Nearctic and Neotropical regions, to the presence of endemic species, and to its diversity of habitats and food resources.
