A new report of the pale-faced bat Phylloderma stenops Peters, 1865) is pre­sented from the upper valley of the Magdalena River, in the Department of Tolima is presented. This record extends the known geographic range of the species in Colombia, and adds the Tropical Dry Forest as a habitat for P. stenops. Because of its rarity, the available information on the distribution and ecology of the species is discussed based on existing specimens and reports. Clearly, the species is locally rare, despite its widespread distribution in Colombia and the region.
