Abstract

PAVE, Romina et al. Nuevos registros de murciélagos para la provincia de Santa Fe, Argentina. Mastozool. neotrop. [online]. 2017, vol.24, n.1, pp.153-162. ISSN 0327-9383.

We analyze the state of knowledge concerning bats from La Capital Department, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. We update the distribution of Eumops glaucinus, E. patagonicus, E. perotis, Molossus molossus, M. rufus, and Tadarida brasiliensis (Molossidae), and Dasypterus ega, Eptesicus furinalis, and Lasiurus blossevillii (Vespertilionidae) based on the analysis of 128 specimens and literature records. We add 5 new localities, as well as information related to morphology and natural history. Eumops glaucinus is reported for the mammal fauna of Santa Fe Province for the first time. Previous studies on bats in the province have been scarce; increased sampling is needed to fill gaps and achieve a more accurate knowledge about species diversity and distribution patterns.

Keywords : Chiroptera; Eumops glaucinus; Geographic distribution; Molossus rufus; Urban environments.
