Abstract

MALTA, André. Polú Pollá Pollôn: Multiplicidade no proêmio da Odisséia. Synthesis (La Plata) [online]. 2007, vol.14, pp.53-70. ISSN 0328-1205.

The proem of the "Odyssey", apparently loosely composed, actually presents - basing itself precisely upon multiformity - information that is essential to the development of action and the characterization of its main hero. Starting with some possible meanings for "polútropos" (v.1), this paper tries to elucidate the main formulations and movements displayed by this beginning and so demonstrate that it fully anticipates important coordinates of the "Odyssey".

Keywords : Odyssey; Proem; Narrative; Hero; Multiformity.
