Abstract

LARESCHI, Marcela; AUTINO, Analía G.; DIAZ, M. Mónica  and  BARQUEZ, Rubén M.. New Host and Locality Records for Mites and Fleas Associated with Wild Rodents from Northwestern Argentina. Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent. [online]. 2003, vol.62, n.3-4, pp.60-64. ISSN 0373-5680.

The present study extends the distribution area for the mites Gigantolaelaps oudemansi (Fonseca), Gigantolaelaps wolffshoni (Oudemans) and Laelaps paulistanensis Fonseca, and for the flea Neotyphloceras crassispina hemisus Jordan. In addition, new host species are recorded for the flea Craneopsylla minerva minerva (Rothschild) and for all mite species collected; 21 new ectoparasite-host associations are mentioned for the first time.

Keywords : Acari; Siphonaptera; Laelapidae; Macronyssidae; Stephanocircidae; Hystrichopsyllidae.
