ABSTRACT. Sympherobius Banks has worldwide distribution (except Australia and S.E. of Asia) and includes about 55 species known. There are 12 species in the Neotropical region, five of them are cited from Argentina: Sympherobius gayi Navás; Sympherobius innoceus Steinmann; Sympherobius miranda (Navás); Sympherobius scriptus (Navás) y Sympherobius marmoratipennis (Blanchard) and only the biology and larval morphology of the first species are known. In this paper the morphological external characteristics of the larval instars of Sympherobius marmoratipennis are described and illustrated. A figure with chaetotaxy details of the third larval instar and a key for the indentification of the three instars are included.
