Abstract

BACA, Verónica; ZAMAR, María I.; MURUAGA DE L`ARGENTIER, Susana  and  QUINTANA DE QUINTEROS, Sara L.. First record of Merothripidae Hood (Insecta: Thysanoptera) from Argentina. Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent. [online]. 2013, vol.72, n.3-4, pp.223-226. ISSN 0373-5680.

Merothrips floridensis Watson (Thysanoptera: Merothripidae) is newly recorded from Argentina. The female specimen was collected from a fallen branch of Pinus patula in Jujuy province. With this new record, the diversity of the order Thysanoptera in Argentina is now increased to six families (Merothripidae, Aeolothripidae, Melanthripidae, Heterothripidae, Thripidae, and Phlaeothripidae).
