Abstract

ROSSI BATIZ, Maria F; MACIA, A  and  MARINO DE REMES LENICOV, Ana M. Life table and population parameters of Lacertinella australis (Insecta-Hemiptera-Fulgoromorpha). Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent. [online]. 2016, vol.75, n.3-4, pp.117-126. ISSN 0373-5680.

Lacertinella australis is distributed in 11 provinces of Argentina and has been mentioned as a species of phytosanitary concern because of its potential for the transmission of pathogens. Considering its wide range of distribution, its poten-tial phytosanitary importance and the invasive nature of its principal host plant Cor-taderia spp., life cycle aspects were evaluated through a life table under controlled conditions in the laboratory and a second table based on samples of natural popu-lations. Population parameters R0, λ, rc, Vx, Tc and the average development time by stages were estimated. Behavioral and bionomic aspects of L. australis were re-corded and compared with the only two species of the tribe Saccharosydnini whose biology is known: Saccharosydne procerus and Saccharosydne saccharivora.

Keywords : Life table. Population parameters. Hemiptera. Fulgoromorpha. Lacertinella australis.
