Abstract

ALBORNOZ, Mario. Un sueño y muchos soñadores: A propósito del libro de Diego Hurtado: El sueño de la Argentina atómica. Bol. Inst. Hist. Argent. Am. Dr. Emilio Ravignani [online]. 2015, n.43, pp.171-183. ISSN 0524-9767.

Since long time ago, it is a matter of debate in Argentina how a low industrialized and technologically poor developed country achieved a striking nuclear capacity, while at the same time other technological gaps widened. It is also astonishing that very dissimilar governments, civil and military, took Nuclear development as a serious long run and state policy, even though it deserved lots of investments in a country where resources were scarce. Even though, as most of it was controlled by one of the military forces, it was difficult for intellectuals to agree on how it happened. An opportunity to think again about it is the book of Diego Hurtado, discussed here.

Keywords : Science; Nuclear technology; Argentina.
