This article proposes to analyse the configuration of the work identities of Gas del estado’s workers of the regional state of Tandil. It also seeks to investigate if they suffered reconfigurations from the processes of privatization, reorganization and fragmentation of the company. We approach this problem from the theoretical approach of the nominalist identity proposed by Claude Dubar and, we focus on various references that analyselabour identities. We also start from the new Management Theories of Bolstanky and Chiapello to understand the process of reorganization started during the business privatization. We assume a qualitative methodological perspective and a flexible research design. The research technique we employ is the semi-structured in-depth interview with former Gas del Estado workers, under an intentional non-probabilistic sampling. We also examine secondary sources of information such as legal material (Laws, decrees, and Collective Labour Agreements), documentation from the archive of the former police of the province of Buenos Aires, trade union magazines, and newspaper clippings. From this diversity of primary and secondary sources, we note that it is relevant to address the particularities that this privatization process acquired and its impact on the identities of these workers.
