Abstract
GUELMAN, Anahí; PALUMBO, María Mercedes and DOWNAR, Camila. Mediations of popular movements in productive and reproductive labor: an approach to the reconfigurations of social policies from MNCI‐Buenos Aires territories. Trab. soc. [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.37, pp.619-639. Epub July 01, 2021. ISSN 1514-6871.
This article is aimed at analyzing the reconfigurations of recent social policies in Argentina and the social, political and sectoral mediations of such social policies performed by popular organizations and movements in the territories. It is considered that these mediations are possible due to opportunities generated by governmental policies, prefigurative projects of social organizations as well as sectoral organizational processes regarding popular economy workers. To this purpose, social policies of “Cambiemos” government alliance are characterized, emphasizing the “Hacemos Futuro” Program as a paradigm shift. Then the mediations that took place in the territories, concerning the reception and reinvention of the social policies, are presented. We focus particularly on the experience of the Movimiento Nacional Campesino-Indígena of Buenos Aires (MNCI-Buenos Aires) within the framework of a partnership that began in 2012. In methodological terms, the empirical basis is the result of an ethnographic and qualitative approach carried out by means of participant observation, in-depth interviews and a series of workshops.
